On Saturday April 30th, 13 students from our school traveled to UCONN to participate in the CT Invention Convention.

There were over 900 4
th-8th grade inventors participating in the convention and we are pleased to announce that we had 5 winners at the state level. They are:  Syrah Leonard, Darian Morales, Nicole Montero Silva, Yasmin Mirlas and Connie Marie Orobello. Each of them received "Recognized Inventor" awards for their judging circles. In addition, Connie won a special Life Sciences award.

We are proud to say that C.B. Jennings fifth grader, Connie Marie Orobello, has been selected and will be presenting her invention, "Caring Connie Chemo Pack"  at the National Invention Convention in Washington, D.C. later this month.

Connie says,  "My mom has cancer and I went to one of her appointments with her and I saw that they were taking a chemo bag off.  I thought it could be embarrassing for people who have cancer. I decided I could try to make a bag for chemo that was more comfortable for people with cancer.  There are no words to explain how excited I am to be going to Washington, D.C."

Congratulations to all our winners and good luck in Washington, D.C., Connie!
